Business Intelligence Developer

ResponsibilitiesThe BI Developer is responsible for leading the development of reporting and analytics solutions for UCLA's electronic health record (EHR) system by gathering business needs, documenting requirements, identifying appropriate data sources, developing reports, and delivering them to stakeholders. The BI Developer takes direction from, and collaborates with, the Manager, Business Intelligence Operations and the Director, Program Operations on work priorities and manages the resolution of escalated issues. The BI Developer will perform in depth and precise investigation and documentation of the current state of the Electronic Payment Pre-Processor process and the RVU Valuation process. The BI Developer will work with users at the Faculty Practice Group to manage these processes on a daily basis, add required business logic to the processes, optimize and automate the processes, and maintain documentation and change control of the processes on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications Epic Clarity Data Model certification in one or more modules (EpicCare Ambulatory, Cadence, Beacon, Professional Billing, Phoenix, Tapestry) preferred
Epic build experience in a live environment strongly preferred
Epic implementation experience specific to clinical workflows and order management strongly preferred
5+ years of experience in a healthcare related organization highly desired
5+ years demonstrated expertise in MS SQL Server or Oracle highly desired
Strong SQL Programming Skills (MS SQL Server/Oracle platforms)
Strong background in Data warehousing and ETL principles, architecture and its implementation in large environments. Experience in handling at least Terabytes of data processing using databases like SQL Server, Azure SQL Data warehouse or other MPP databases like Vertica/RedShift.
Ability to evaluate multiple technologies and platforms and propose the right solution for the problem is highly desired.
Experience with HIPAA EDI transactions, either from the Payer or Provider side highly desired
Ability to learn new technologies and business concepts
Experience with generating or processing 835, Remittance Advice, and/or 837P, Professional Claims, transactions preferred
Experience with WebFocus software preferred
Extensive knowledge of SAP Business Objects architecture, functions, features, and capabilities
Extensive knowledge of best practices regarding reporting, workflows, policies, procedures, systems and culture in the healthcare environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills
Ability to translate business questions and requirements into reports, views, and BI query objects
Experience in gathering, documenting, prioritizing and tracking requirements
Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation
Must recognize and evaluate problems, and refer to the appropriate channels for action
High functioning team skills, including active listening and rapport building
Effective written & verbal communication
Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels to understand requirements
Ability to identify, document, resolve and/or escalate issues and maintain a complete issues log
Ability to accurately and precisely estimate development time

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
