Hospital Laboratory Technician I

ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision from the directors and the manager of the Center for Pathology Research Services (Pathology Research Portal); Performs activities including batching and processing of primary specimens, operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, troubleshooting specimen test/order/result problems and participating in special studies and projects as required by the Research Portal. Ensure all work is performed properly and in a timely manner. Must be able to work night shifts. On a daily basis, assess overall workload for any area that needs help, and assist coworkers and provide backup as needed without being reassigned by the supervisor

QualificationsCollege Degree with a major in an applicable science; or two years of college courses in science plus two years of applicable experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to use relevant equipment and instrument. Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and web technology. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Proven ability to work independently, to collaborate as a team member, and to multitasking.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
