Investigational Drug Study Pharmacist

ResponsibilitiesThe Investigational Drug Study Pharmacist functioning as part of the Investigational Drug Service. Maintains, monitors and audits the distribution and administration of investigational drugs used in protocols conducted under the auspices of the School of Medicine, to assure compliance with institutional and regulatory guidelines.

QualificationsASHP-accredited residency (preferred)
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and professional staff.
Ability to set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities.
Ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision.
Ability to read and understand and interpret current scientific literature.
Ability to effectively communicate orally on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and to persuade others to adopt a specific opinion or action.
Knowledge of and ability to perform age specific and disease specific pharmacokinetic calculations.
Ability to compound intravenous admixtures and other sterile products such as ophthalmic preparations and intrathecal injections according to acceptable standards of aseptic technique.
Pharm D. degree required
Specialty pharmacy experience highly desired
CA Pharmacy license

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
