Sr. LVN - Pediatrics Clinic

ResponsibilitiesSenior Licensed Vocational Nurse is a licensed nursing employee who functions as a member of the nursing team under the direct supervision of the Director of Ambulatory Care and the Leads. The Senior LVN performs assigned duties according to the complexity of nursing care needs of the patient and within the range of formal and practical preparation; provides direct care to assigned patients; assists in the performance of routine patient care assignment within the various areas of the clinic, depending on need; carries out established nursing procedures; and performs other nursing duties assigned by the Medical Director, Manager, Supervisor, or the Director of Ambulatory Care. The Senior LVN must maintain a current LVN license, be BCLS certified, and maintain CE units.
QualificationsPerforms patient care functions according to established procedures. Takes and records vital patient information. Checks temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressures; checks extremity pulses. Takes accurate height and weight measurements per UCLA Mattel Children's Health protocols and state regulations. Obtains chief complaint from patient or parent. Prepares and administers medication. Administers oral, hypodermic, and topical medications, eye drops inhalants, and rectal or vaginal suppositories. Collects urine, sputum, stool, wound discharge, emesis, nasogastric drainage for specified testing. Applies heating and cooling measures, PRN. Applies non-sterile dressings and compresses. Administers oxygen by mask, cannula, or tent. Carries out procedures for patient safety and comfort measures. Provides for physical and emotional support of the patient and parent in a safe environment. Carries out isolation procedures, complete, regional, protective, and special. Uses safety restraints when needed. Teaches parents standard child safety measures. Participates in code blue, fire code, or disaster activity according to procedures. Performs hearing and vision screenings.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
