Nurse Practitioner II Cardiac Arrhythmia Ctr

ResponsibilitiesThe UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Program seeks an experienced Nurse Practitioner with recent acute care experience for SM and UCLA Medical Centers. Needs to be highly organized and able to coordinate duties between clinical, research, administrative and educational commitments. Teaching and administrative experience preferred. Advanced electrophysiology experience required. Job requirements include inpatient and outpatient care, device clinic, research coordination, patient and staff education, community outreach and consultation, and program planning and administration. Some traveling for national and international conferences may be required.
This Position will be mainly based at the UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center and at the UCLA Santa Monica Cardiology Practice Group Office but may require some time at the UCLA Cardiac Arrhythmia Center office and Ronald Reagan UCLA Hospital in Westwood as needed. Specific duties will include:
All aspects of follow-care inpatients with pacemakers, ICDs, CRT and ILR devices, specifically interrogation of devices, measurement of all parameters, and generation of reports for physician to review and sign
Coordination of Holter, Event monitor and all other rhythm monitoring device hook-up and follow-up care
Seeing inpatients and outpatients in the Arrhythmia Clinic in coordination with the attending physician
Providing programming and followup care for patients with cardiac devices undergoing procedures in OR
Acting as a resource for CCU and unit nurses, medical and surgical teams on all aspects of the management of patients with cardiac devices.
The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate "standardized procedures" (SP). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition, and determines if they are abnormal findings(Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725).

1. Ability to utilize Excel, Word, MCCS, cView, Essentris and other software programs
2. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and collaborative working relationships with administrative, clinical and academic personnel
3. Skill in working independently and following through with minimum directions
4. Ability to set priorities
5. Demonstrate proficiency of the English language.
6. Demonstrate writing skills to compose logical, detailed and grammatically correct correspondence
7. Document patient care in an concise and comprehensive manner
8. Experience specific for each JD-see above

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
