CARE Research Assistant

ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision of the Principal Investigator and SRA III, this position will primarily help to coordinate the NCAA- US Department of Defense CARE study. The CARE Research Assistant will be responsible for administering basic neurocognitive and neuropsychological tests in addition to entering data results. Experiment execution, data collection, and analysis for the NCAA-DOD CARE Consortium: Perform and coordinate research projects focused on obtaining pre-season neurocognitive neuropsychological and neurophysical baseline, post-injury and post-season data for student athletes as they relate to sport concussions. Administer the following neurocognitive, neuropsychological and neurophysical exams on student athletes: Clinical Reaction Time Test (RTclin); Balance Error Scoring System(BESS); Sports Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT3); Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC); Computerized Neurocognitive Assessments: ImPACT and AXON; administering Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan protocols. Assist in data acquisition and data entry for various types of data obtained from the following tests/systems: Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan; Head Impact Telemetry (HITS) system, Clinical Reaction Time Test. Assist in the consenting of subjects for research. Schedule baseline and post-injury assessments.

QualificationsQualified candidate:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working on grant funded research projects.
Experience interfacing with research databases and maintain accurate records of experiments, results both in writing and computerized database.
Strong background in research coordination and project coordination.
Familiarity with sports medicine, athletic training, neurology and/or neuropsychology is a plus.
Independent, motivated individual with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Experience administering any of the following exams: Clinical Reaction Time Test (RTclin); Balance Error Scoring System (BESS); Sports Concussion Assessment Tool (SCAT3); Standardized Assessment of Concussion (SAC) and ImPACT.
Familiarity coordinating services and/or working with any of the following UCLA offices: CTRC, CTRL, IRB office, OHRPP, Athletics, OCGA.
Independent, motivated individual with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
