Principal Cloud Architect

ResponsibilitiesThe Principal Cloud Architect is responsible for providing strategic direction, leadership, and vision to define and implement the enterprise multi-cloud platform strategy while employing industry best practices to provide a secure, innovative, and cost-effective computing environment to solve some of the most demanding technical challenges in Healthcare. The Architect will work with key clinical, financial, research, and academic stakeholders, IT groups, and C-level executives to analyze application portfolios, identify motivators for cloud adoption, assess migration feasibility, and establish a shared vision for customer-focused end-to-end solutions. This person will act as a key advisor to senior IT and business leadership; serve on multiple committees and working groups within the organization to define and drive organizational strategy and key decisions; provide technical subject matter expertise, collaboration and mentorship across cross-functional technical teams; drive buy-in across business stakeholders; and provide thought leadership for collaborative solutions that span UCOP and/or multiple UC Health organizations. They will produce written, visual, and presentation quality artifacts, including strategy collateral, technical roadmaps, position statements, technical security standards, architecture governance, and a library of deployable design patterns. This person will represent UCLA Health in various conferences to showcase and present UCLA Health's technological achievement and accomplishments as a speaker.

Qualifications Degree, or equivalent experience in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred 15-20 years of strong enterprise technology experience in both hands-on architecture and leadership roles 10+ years of experience in software architecture, design, and development utilizing the Microsoft .Net platform 5+ years of experience managing enterprise infrastructure, business intelligence, data management, and/or software development teams. 10-15 years of experience designing, implementing, and deploying enterprise systems meeting security and regulatory requirements Demonstrated, hands on experience leading at least one significant enterprise Azure cloud deployment with a private cloud model 7-10 years of experience with security architecture, designing systems to mitigate cyber security threats, and preferably providing security-specific outreach or training to infrastructure and development groups 7-10 years of experience in a healthcare provider organization, with at least 5 years in an Academic Medical Center, preferably with exposure to projects related to delivery of care, hospital operations, billing operations, inter-organizational interfaces, custom integration with EMR systems, and analytics 7-10 years strong enterprise-level experience in complex infrastructure implementation and data center operations Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft .Net (C#, VB.Net), Java, Python, PowerShell, R, and other related programming and scripting languages Demonstrated ability and experience delivering presentations to large audiences in a way that engages and motivates Demonstrated expertise in hardware, documentation techniques, and systems analysis is required. The ability to solve system-related problems by using diagnostic techniques and protocols is required. Prior experience in long-term capacity and performance planning Must be willing to work outside of normal business hours on high priority, escalated issues Ensure storage infrastructure and data have high availability and are functioning at optimal performance Prior experience on working with enterprise vendors for software and hardware procurement Prior experience in designing logical and physical network infrastructure diagrams Experience working with the firewall configuration and troubleshooting issues related to it Experience designing, planning, procuring and implementing server, network and storage infrastructure Extensive experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory Experience working with Linux in an enterprise environment Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams Excellent written and verbal communication Flexible, team player, "get-it-done" personality Ability to organize and plan work independently Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
