Charge Master Specialist

As a key member of our Charge Master team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining charge master records so that hospital charges can be processed in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
You will collaborate closely with Operational Department Managers and other team members as you apply your knowledge of hospital billing and coding processes to build charge master records in compliance with CMS, Medi-Cal, and health plan policies.
This role also involves the development of proprietary audit tools and the monitoring of databases.
We're seeking a detail-oriented team player with: Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, business, computer science or related field - Master's preferred.
At least four years experience in healthcare finance, billing, coding, revenue integrity, medical analysis, or medical auditing.
Experience with charge master and familiarity with CDM structure, content, and maintenance.
Knowledge of regulations on charging and billing practices for Medicare, Medi-Cal, and other payers (UB04 and/or CMS1500).
Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, and Medi-Cal coding guidelines and regulations.
Background with compliance issues.
Knowledge of EPIC system, particularly Resolute Hospital Billing, Orders, OpTime, and ADT applications.
EPIC certification in Charge Master preferred - other related modules also a plus.
Ability to work with Charge Capture (Panacea) software.
Experience with database management, development, implementation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
Strong project management, computer programming, organizational, math and communication skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
