Pathology Compliance Liaison

Job Description:
Responsibilities The CAP Compliance Liaison for Pathology Research Services maintains oversight of the progress and completeness of CAP accreditation process for the Research Service laboratories, and works with leadership, technicians, and coordinators to help guide our accreditation process to a successful conclusion.
The incumbent is expected to work 20 hours per week.
Additional duties to include: drafting new policies and procedures, and revising existing ones; oversee the revision of forms and documents; provide education and training to research service staff; assist supervisors in writing and implementing policies and competency assessment documents; perform internal and external process improvement activities to meet CAP requirements; Monitor adverse lab events, report to the director or manager immediately upon discover and work on solutions.
Qualifications BS or BA undergraduate degree is strongly preferred.
Five (5) years of Laboratory Science experience required.
Expert or working knowledge of CAP accreditation guidelines and CLIA regulations.
Prior experience in a Pathology Laboratory is preferred; on-site training will be provided for the appropriate candidate, if necessary.
Proficient in computer business software (e.
g, Microsoft office applications), as well as the ability to learn other software and online administrative or laboratory applications that support the incumbent's role.
Must be able to maintain patient confidentiality at all times, following all appropriate federal, state and local regulations.
Must have excellent English verbal, written and comprehension skills.
Ability to present information to staff, leadership and inspectors in an effective and orderly manner.
Must be able to perform all duties with attention to detail and in a professional manner.
Ability to maintain composure during potentially stressful situations.
Must endeavor to maintain a safe environment for self and others - adhering to all UCLA Health System and Pathology & Laboratory safety regulations, policies and procedures.
Ability to maintain awareness and care while working near biological and chemical hazards.
Ability to follow standard procedures for any assigned administrative task.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
