Privacy Manager

As our Privacy Manager, you will help develop, implement and direct a comprehensive privacy program at UCLA Health Sciences in accordance with federal (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.
), CA state requirements and UCLA Health Sciences polices.
You will administer the daily operations of the privacy program, including: policy maintenance and development; monitoring privacy activities (auditing, risk assessments, and walk-throughs); and management of privacy incidents.
Other duties will include: Serving as a subject matter expert on privacy related matters Managing, mentoring and developing the privacy team Remaining current on applicable federal and state privacy and security laws and accreditation standards Developing and delivering privacy education and orientation Directing, performing and documenting ongoing privacy assessments/reviews Cooperate with the Office for Civil Rights, other legal entities, and UCLA Health Sciences Officers in compliance reviews/investigations Assisting in the development of remediation/corrective action plans To qualify for this key role, you must have: Related Bachelor's degree - Master's preferred A minimum of five years experience working in privacy CHC, CHP, CHPS or IAPP certification In-depth knowledge of HIPAA Privacy and Security Regulations as well as California law relating to privacy and security of patient information Supervisory experience Strong team building skills Ability to implement state and federal regulations and explain legal requirements and regulations Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access Understanding of the seven elements of an effective compliance program Working knowledge of principles of performance /quality improvement Exceptional communication, presentation and organizational skills Ability to handle difficult and sensitive situations tactfully and responsibly UCLA Health is a world-renowned health system with four award-winning hospitals and dozens of primary care practices, specialty practices, urgent care centers and other ancillary locations throughout metro Los Angeles.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
